In the title sequence the font plays a big impact as it is usually a mixture of typed and hand written writing. This creates a variation in font. Also a lot of blurring of objects and words is common because I causes mystery and makes the person watching more intrigued.
A big aspect of the entire film is music so it is really important to choose the right genre because it adds to the effect. Orchestral, drum and base and pianos solos we found were used a lot within horror and thriller films or rather than music sounds may be used, these could include whispering and breathing. Or, finally no sound at all could be used making the audience clueless about what’s going to happen. A long period of silence causes suspence.
Flashes of what’s going to happen in the through have appeared in openings before. This makes the audience excited and causes suspense. The music goes along with what’s happening on the screen and so does the lens filter for example a red colour filtered on to the shot imply blood. Special effects could also be used for example smoke as fog or clouds could be used as a background whilst black font could be used for the titles over them. This would make the writing stand out.
